AMFI targets 130 million investor folios by 2025
Industry body Association of Mutual Funds in India has set a target of Rs 95 lakh crore AUM and 130 million investor folios by 2025.The Rs 20-lakh crore domestic mutual fund (MF) industry is eyeing a near fivefold increase in assets under management (AUM) and an over three-time jump in investor accounts over the next eight years.
MF folios hit record 5.8 crore at June-end on high retail push
Showing a growing traction for mutual funds among investors, the number of folios has grown by over 93 lakh to an all-time high of 5.82 crore at the end of June 2017, from the year-ago level, driven by strong participation from retail investors.
MF AUM rises to record high in June quarter
The average assets under management of the mutual fund industry rose 7% taking the total AUM to a record high of Rs 19.52 lakh crore at the end of June quarter, according to the data on the Association of Mutual Funds in India.Fund managers attributed the increase in AUM to robust markets, matched with growing participation from retail investors. In January-March, the average AUM of 42 MF players stood at Rs 18.3 lakh crore, as per AMFI.
